Time at Tennessee Athletics

Basketball Operations and Sports Nutrition

During my last year of undergrad at Tennessee, I was a Basketball Operations and Sports Nutrition Intern. Getting to work around a program and team culture built by Rick Barnes, was an amazing experience. As my graduation date approached, I was asked to stay on with the team through the end of their season.

During my time in this position, I was responsible for:

  • Game day operations including recruit visits, set up and tear down for pre game meals, preparing the locker room and other areas for games.

  • Travel day logistics and operations including preparing and packing nutrition boxes for the travels trips, coordinating meals and planning meals based on team schedule, and assisting with travel packing lists and agendas for the players, coaches, and staff.

  • Assisting with recruit visits and official visits.

  • Setting up pre and post meals/snacks/shakes for games, practices, lifting, and other team events.

  • Creating a database to use for tracking all inventory and the budget of 12+ fueling stations and how much each team was spending individually.

  • Filing and uploading invoices and orders into database.

  • Stocking and maintaining the fueling stations throughout facilities.

Football Operations

During the 2020 season, I worked for Tennessee football operations where my responsibilities included:

  • Coordinating schedules and logistics with coaches, staff, and their families.

  • Ensuring all families arrived to game day events on time.

  • Assisting with football recruiting staff during games and visits.

  • Assisted the coaches and staff for the program.

Spirit Operations

From Fall 2019 to Spring 2020, I worked with the Spirit teams - cheer, dance, and mascots - at Tennessee. During my time working with the team, the cheer and dance teams both were Gameday National Champions! My responsibilities included:

  • Preparing the locker room for each of the teams for game day.

  • Ensuring the teams had all materials needed for games, practices, community events, and travel.

  • Went to appearances with the Spirit teams and captured social media content for the teams.

  • Coordinated schedules for games, travel, meals, appearances, and other events with the athletes to ensure there was enough representation for each event.

  • Prepared all logistics and materials leading up to Nationals competition.

    • Creating mascots props.

    • Fixing uniforms for all teams.

    • Creating and fixing signs for the cheer team.

    • Preparing packing lists.

    • Dispensing and keeping track of per diem cards for travel.
